At the 2009 District Conference, Rev. Laurence Croswell was appointed as the second Assistant District Superintendent for Central Canada.  His mandate is to assist Pastor Don Hodgins, and in particular to give oversight to the five churches in Alberta, and to actively pursue the planting of new churches in the west.  In fact, in order for the Wesleyan Church to have a witness all across Canada, the goal is to as quickly as possible to help the Western Churches become a Provisional District.

In his journal, Pastor Laurence once wrote down his dreams for Alberta (the province of his birth).  Near the end of his ministry in Brockville Centennial Road, he wrote "the dream is dead."  However, at the DBA meeting of September, 2009 it was very evident that with this new posting, the dream has been resurrected.  Welcome aboard Pastor Laurence.  May the dream not only be alive, but may it be fulfilled.
